While the official first day of summer is tomorrow, it has felt like summer for awhile here in Florida. And with the warm weather comes the most summery of all alcoholic beverages that come in pitchers: Sangria – that delicious drink topped with slices of fresh fruit. The best part of Sangria is that it can be made in advanced (it’s actually tastes better) and since it’s all mixed in a pitcher it is great for a party. Not only that the recipe is beyond simple. Sweet red wine, brandy, raspberry flavoring, fresh fruit and a couple cans of Truly Spiked & Sparkling™. This spiked sparkling water adds flavor and a bit of a kick to your typical sangria. 6 oz. Truly Spiked & Sparkling Pomegranate

2 oz. Red wine

1 oz. Brandy

1 oz. Raspberry flavoring

Assorted citrus (oranges, etc.) and berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries)

Squeeze of orange and lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In advance, soak fruit in brandy.
  2. Combine 6 oz. Truly Spiked & Sparkling Pomegranate and 2 oz. red wine in a red wine glass over ice and brandy-soaked fruit.
  3. Garnish with orange slice.

Note:

To make batch sangria, use 3:1 ratio of Truly to red wine
