On Monday I had the opportunity to tour Peterbrooke Chocolatier in sunny Winter Park, Florida and let me tell you, I was like a kid in a candy store!  Kevin and Jami Wray and their wonderful staff gave me a tour of the shop and let me sample their favorite and top selling sweet confections.

One of the first questions I asked them was “What is your favorite item in theshop?” and not one of them could answer. In the beginning, I was kind of puzzled by this, but by the end of the evening I totally understood. You cannot possibly have a favorite item, because there are too many favorites! The past few hours I’ve been questioning myself asking, “What are you going to tell your readers was the best thing you tried?” Well, just like Kevin, Jami and their staff, I can’t really choose either!

It’s challenging to find fabulous frozen desserts in Central Florida, which with our daily heat index, I’m not sure why. If you’re craving a cup of gelato or you prefer your gelato on a cone dipped in chocolate, and then rolled in delicious nuts or candies, this is the place.

Banana Caramel Praline, which Oprah has shipped to her house, was what I would call OMG fabulous! It has this creamy, light banana flavor with a thick caramel swirl and crunchy pecans. I need this shipped to my house too, Oprah. Some of my other favorites were the Chocolate Mocha, French Chocolate Brandy Carmel, and the Coconut Chunk. I could go for a scoop as I’m writing this!

After being in gelato heaven, Jami and I picked up a basket and did a tour of the store. We put everything from chocolate covered bacon to chocolate covered Twinkies in the basket and I couldn’t have been more excited to try it all. I mean a Chocolate Covered Twinkie!?! How wonderful does that sound?

One of the top sellers at Peterbrooke is their chocolate covered popcorn. Now, anyone who knows me knows I LOVE popcorn, so this was very exciting for me. Typically chocolate covered popcorn is kind of, well, plain. Not this one! Instead of using plain popcorn they use movie theater style, which has the perfect balance of salty-sweet. Not only that, it is covered in chocolate, instead of just a little drizzle. A definite two thumbs up in my book.

Some of the other items I tried were a Sea Salt Bar, a chocolate macaroon, chocolate potato chips, a peanut butter melt-a-way, chocolate covered Nutter Butter, Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Brittle, Milk Chocolate Spicy Toffee Bar, White Chocolate Oreos, a Cattail, a Chocolate Marshmallow and much, much more.

Since I can’t possibly choose a favorite item, I’ll give you my top three… in no particular order: Chocolate Covered Popcorn, the Chocolate Marshmallow and the Chocolate Covered Peanut Brittle.  As I said above, the Chocolate Covered Popcorn is so delicious and unlike any other chocolate covered popcorn I’ve ever had. The Chocolate Marshmallow is a giant marshmallow on a stick and coated in chocolate, with a different flavor chocolate drizzle on the outside. Let’s just say it puts those giant marshmallow Santa’s I eat every Christmas to shame. As a food blogger, I’ve tried lots of different items, but I’ve never had chocolate covered peanut brittle. Another one of my OMG fantastic items from Peterbrooke, I suggest you try it. It has a little sprinkle of sea salt that just kicks the flavors up another notch.
